StreetFest

Was at the streetfest on hearst street today. Crazy. It's one of those creative days, felt like a damn hippie. Was it me, or was I drinking Becks fusion and did I just partake in a mosh pit? Also had a loving relationship with the Adidas graffiti board. I did this and some random dude told Fu I was a 'lunatic'. Funnily enough, Duane who was with us asked a girl what do you think that is and she said 'illuminati' before I even wrote it. Sorry if the truth put a spanner in your partying, I tend to do that sometimes:

All in all great fun.

Sum up,
Want my mind, soul and body. FFFFLFLLL*CK that!!!

Born to Render (Enemies Useless)

Taking a brief respite from crazy rendering, and also prioritising the prioritising sessions I have for upcoming jobs. "You! the one in the tacky jacket. How much you got? No money. You want it for free?! Back of the line". "All that attitude, and you still unclear about what you're after? Back of the £$%&ing line". Excuse my french. You'd think I'd have gotten used to it by now. Been busy designing, one one hand, a logo for some social care business. Company's called Three Sisters Care. I'm not sure if it's just me or does that not sound like the Fates in Greek Mythology. So in turn, makes the place sound like where old and sick people go to die. Cruel joke five [Todd voice]. Wow. Scrubs is even less funny now. Possible? Indeed. Here's one of the logos I did for the company. Client didn't like. She 'wished I had something good to say about that'. Dulani Wilson aint sh!t.

Was going for a convent, Scottish Widows type thing. She probably thought it was a hijab. She is an advocate against them, as it's a means of controlling women in the Middle East. The whole western debate is a bit over-hyped. Women who wear them are not integrated into society/ controlled/ cut off/ blah blah. As a black man, when anybody starts talking about assimilation and controlling what people wear, I'm just waiting for something even more draconian to pop off. I should be able to dress like Batman and Freddie Krugar all at the same time, long as I don't hurt anybody for no legit reason. But f@ck, what the hell do I know? I also noticed as I'm writing that I am censoring myself. Must be in a somewhat good mood.

Also designing some shirts which I promised Candy Rose. Stalk us both on Twitter : /icandyrose and /bluntspear.
Did some cool designs which I think would look pretty live on a Tshirt. Here's one:

My sentiments exactly.
I'd rock the shit out of that.

Also entering that Moby competition held on Vimeo. Its been an ugly weekend but I might be finished on time to enter before closing date monday. Hence the rendering and why I have time to be posting on here. I feel I have neglected this blog somehow, but I do come back in the end. Have a couple more freelance tips that should be helpful, should be up here soon.

Back to Moby, doing a video for the song 'After'. Premise is good and technology is putting my creativity and tolerance on trial. Heres an element to be used in the multi-media music video:

Just tilt that sexy head for me. That's it babe. See? It's a weed plant and The original man. Locks down to the flo'. I have some coloured images, but they're psd files and not internet compatible so I'd have to open them in photoshop save em as jpegs... too much. Will hit you with the end product soonish. I'm waffling. Night sports fans.

Sum up,
Bin Laden is dead. I know! Apparently they caught him on the couch watching images of himself. Wouldn't it be funny if it was porn? My mom (HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!) has a muslim friend who told her when they were having a discussion about the terrorist at her school, this bitch co-worker asked her if she was saddened by the news that he died and of how they disposed of the body. Lol. Ah, British xenophobia. Doesn't get old.

Alibi in my rise through Crime

Alibi TV had a competition for some New Crime Writer competition. Forgot I had start writing a story since February, but rediscovered it when I was backing up all my files from my mac, god rest her poor bastard soul. Check it out, you only have til May the 1st to enter:

http://uktv.co.uk/alibi/homepage/sid/8644

The story I wrote was based on the coming home of a soldier faced with the death of a brother caused by knife wielding punk. Hopefully I pass the first stages so you can start voting for the kid. Here's an excerpt:

It is awfully cold. Not so much the weather as the atmosphere. Wind chill -10. Goosebumps
lift off Salema’s skin. The construct of this place doesn’t help either. To the left of the small
metal fenced cemetery is a field. Open. Stretches for a good couple of yards. No trees or hills
to break the flow of wind. And at the end of the field, North East, are two towering flat
blocks. Ghost buildings that blot out the hazy peach sun. Living proof British architecture is
modelled off a prison system. Open. Exposed. With a central towering all-seeing eye. The
constant feeling of being watched. Scrutiny that swells into demonisation. It’s the same way I
felt walking those broad streets of Iraq back in 2014 with the two monumental sword arms
interlocking. Architecture and control. Draconian in design.

“Don’t be. It’s just something I don’t like talking about.” I reassure Salema, as I consciously
try to soften my hardened, soldier’s stare.

To be honest I was too far away to become overly traumatised. Nothing I personally did. Just
the aftermath.

“What happened?” I asked her.

“I told you.” her eyes fixed on, soft and cow.

“Tell me again. The party. What started the argument?

Salema averts her gaze to the floor. Quivering peach lips tell an ugly story of my brother.
Going to a party he didn’t want to be at in the first place. Persuaded by a fifteen year old ex-girlfriend,
naïve to the laws of the world. How a punk with a rep to prove began getting rough
with her. My brother stepped in. Emulating what any good man would do for the one he
loved. Chivalry cost him his life. My brother was stabbed thrice. Twice in his lower thigh,
once in his inner thigh. He bled out in minutes. Daytime crime TV has given these bastards
too many wrong ideas.

Also need new Photoshop so busy sorting that out. Yeah, til whenever.

Sum up,
Was watching the Centaurian, but saw 'he' was in it and I thought, f*ck it. I'd rather watch the Royal Wedding. And I'd rather do myself in than watch a German and '100%-British-wedding-tree' trick jump the proverbial witch's broom.
