The Word is out. Again. For about the 3rd Time...

The Seventh Quarry, Issue 16 arrived recently. And in it, near the end, like Revelations is The Word. Another poem in another magazine. The poem also appears in Harbinger: The Medium and Message, authored by yours truly, the #wordsmith. For the most part, I believe what you say has power. It just depends on the wielder. and that's what that poem's all about. As John 1:1 put it:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

"Power B" in Weyfarers Magazine

Where have you all been? If you've kept your ear the main vein of the streets, you would know war is coming. Civil war. For reasons we continually ignore, including police brutality and institutional racism. Power B was a poem I wrote in my second year in uni., detailing my experience with a pig. No premise to search me and in the end, the same vile male officer that put his hands on me tried to impersonate his inspector over the phone to squash the matter when my mother called on my behalf to complain... the Police Inspector in Maidstone, we found out later, was a woman, not a man. How relevant seeing the Draconian Warlord Gunrunner and his minions want to deploy barely diluted Ghadaffi-tactics by bringing in water hoses and rubber bullets. I'm gonna stop there cause if I continue, I know I'm going to start to have a bout of turrets with 'Cameron', 'Clegg', 'ConDem' and 'pig' interjections.

Enough hogwash, Power B is in the Weyfarers Mag. 111, a poem that also features in my first published ebook of poems: Harbinger: the Medium and the Message. Harbinger: The Medium and the Message Release Date- SEPT 1, 2011

BECOME AN AGENT OF ABSOLUTE CHANGE.

That little e-book I've been slaving over is on the verge of its release date: September 1st 2011. Harbinger: the Medium and the Message will be released and available at all good e-book retailers, namely Amazon, Reader, iBook and Nook. In light of this I put up one final promo clip on youtube. It is finally coming to a close:

Riots are heating up. Harbinger is disturbingly coming to fruition. And I hate it. But I am mentally preparing myself for the worse. The police still have to answer for de Menezes. Following orders? I'm sure that excuse didn't work for the Nazis either.

Harbinger, the ebook anthology, is on its way out very,  very soon... well I'm uploading the final trailer as we speak as I've been saying on Facebook and Twitter. I also released the final official cover art design of the e-book. Really amped now seeing everythings coming together nicely:

GSOM storyart, Harbinger due date and other little stuff

Dear comrades, we find ourselves once again in this holy tabernacle of Creativity and Intellectual Thought. Did some boards for brighthands, known the directors for a while, always a pleasure doing business. They run Docheads as well, doc screening event on Brick Lane they hold intermittently...bi-weekly i think. But we digress. Couple things doing... oh yeah befor that, boards for a GSOM promo- Management School...for managers:

 

Also my dear friends will be announcing the official release date and the cover design for the Harbinger Anthology. Really excited and anxious. Just wrapping up a few things as per usual. Also once again, doing more material for Slick Flick. Apparently the previous stuff I did are up and live on the app. Wonder how they are doing commercially? Anyways, more stills taking, and comic making. Comic Life, you may have an iDVD feel, but you do what you say on the can. Came across this documentary, not a fan of the genre, but i really liked this one, a sad one really. Goes to show humans respect little of true culture.

Labours of the Week

This week...been quite busy. Too many things to remember. Just thought i'd slot this entry to keep true to my vows. Storyboarding a cute short for some dudes somewhere in the UK [I say 'cute' because the have those carbon copy curs you call children, and 'somewhere' because they are outside LANDAN]. Well get it while it's hot, dirtbags! It won't be free for long. Matter of fact it isn't. Just feeling real generous and brushing off the dust off the pen But that's the least important of my week's events.

Had to build a holder page for One More Sun, a Film Picture company for long time Creative General Brian Taylor and conjured up a logo out of the deep recesses. Aparrently Mr. Taylor liked it, even said many of his industry friends said it was real unique and professional grade. Flick of the wrist, click of the mouse. And I am not even a Graphic Designer if you were to judge me by my University qualifications. Not haughty, just a matter of fact. Have a look at the holder page I uploaded, just something to put on the front end until something more permanent is erected:

And in meeting up with the General we also discussed my script we are working on; he gave suggestions and it has already evolved into a behemoth. I'm almost worried my friends with have me admitted or become overly worried. More soon.

Ooo, yes. Check out Slick Flicks, doing some comic/photo work for Maria, it's founder from Romania. Cool lady, and she has revitalised my lust for the graphic novel. Solomon Kane anyone?

Currently working on a photostory. Something to do with Justin Beiber. Yeah, don't ask. I just found out who this 'craze' is- shows I'm becoming an old man. Then even young, I was never one to jump on the bandwagon. No offense intended. 

Harbinger the ebook is 98.9 percent done.... exporting the last clip. Will keep you posted. And that's that.

"Harbinger, War-Bringer..."

It's all coming to a spear's head now. I've been slaving over an ebook for a while, and it's about 95% done. I had designed the pages previously with heavy graphics, but, being the researcher I am, read up on ePub format. Apparently, it's not the most flattering format in existence; text and images have to be placed inline- text then image then text etc. Here's what I'd love it to look at, but apparently the technology hasn't caught up with my brain:

So had to reformat the itch. I had to compromise the visual look things but in the end it looks good. On the plus side as well ebooks allow multimedia to be inserted. Video in an ebook? Totally an affront to God.

Blasphemy aside, the book will contain a three-piece animation as well as a finale Harbinger, animation I did back in 2008.



The book of poems should be a good read; will let you all know more. It's a self portrait of myself in many ways, so many of the videos and images depict me in some sense or the other. Here's one of the sketches I did to be used in the animated depiction of the poem Throne.

Few dabs of ink and pixels later:

Went through more alterations in Photoshop. Made my visage of that of a Zulu warrior. Self- aggrandizing behemoth. I look how Vinnie Paz sounds. "It's on now, I'm coming at you with machetes and hatchets/..."

Will be finishing this by next week so let's get it done.

Dissent into Hell

Dante, the crusades, the 9 levels of hell, not something I enjoy reading about or watching adaptations of. The concept of the Italian poems really is unnerving. It's ugly, but of course the thanatos in me always peaks my interest. Based on the vid game Dante's Inferno, EA did a series of animations (anime of course). Something about falling, lack of control, screams of terror w/dopler effect. But the sentiment "good intentions pave the roads to hell" and the long standing evils of Anglo-hegemonies is something that I can appreciate. Religosity adds a more relevant twist especially today, as Islam extremism, the Brotherhood, or whatever the BBC is calling it has replaced Christianity and the Propaganda wing of the Roman Catholic Sect as the dominant ideology hellbent on converting heathens through violence.



Segue to my illustrations of Redman. Been doing the frames for a whimsical scene where he falls after his crown. Pretty cool,decided to go with a black, white and red palette. This is a frame I'm currently working on.

Mat H. will be proud. The project's been through so much starting and stopping I thought I'd never get it off to a start.

I wanted this sequence to be intense and violent as his fall into darkness signifes his state of mind, fearless, desperate. He falls to catch his crown, symbolic of his desperate gripe for power and sovereignty of a luster-lack kingship.

It's coming on well. Also looking to get an anthology done that I have been sitting on for the past 4 years. Busy Busy.

Over the next couple weeks Ill be putting up some pages from two books Ive put together during my university days. One was called "Spirit of 76" which placed a carnivalesque interpretation of civil rights history, using the word in a unique interpretive way. Also wrote an anthology, poetry when I had at least 1 creative bone in my body entitled 'Harbinger'.

Also remember those stills for that animation title sequence I promised to show you all well here they go...

This is a preliminary image, ended up going for a a more John Bass look, more graphic, overlayed with a paint texture, better type.
