Internet Matters "Digital Safety For Digital Kids" Storyboards

© Internet Matters Storyboard frame. Artwork by Dulani Wilson (bluntspear.com)

This was on my IG for a while but thought I'd share on here. Storyboards I did for Internet Matters a ways back highlighting the importance of online safety for children.

The ad back in 2015 made its rounds on Disney channels and affiliates. The reason the boards look a bit rough was I was mainly focused on character design for the ad. So much so that a poster image based on these designs even got printed and used in the ad:

So much growth since the way I boarded back then.

Sum up,
New job, who dis?

SES Satellites "Engineering Freedom (#5) Storyboards

This week... well, this January has been a hectic one. As usual, this is never the plan, but it kinda happened like that. In any case, the extra workload helped me put my stamp on things so I guess I can't complain too much.

But, long overdue, I thought I would share a bit of the storyboard I've done for SES Satellites. It was part of the company and brands' campaign to promote their newly-launched fleet of satellites – 03b mPower. The 3D animation series they did used my storyboards to help flesh out the story and narrative flow. And given everything it turned out well.

Sum up,

Let's get'er dun!

"We Are Aperol People" Storyboards🍹 (starring my favourite colour)

Orange is such a bright and optimistic colour. Having that said, this ad I storyboarded for Aperol is full of it.

"We Are Aperol People" brand film used the signature colour of their liquor and infused it with the over brands theme of spontaneity, vibrancy, and youthfulness. It was a nice little project and was glad to be their in the pre-production stage.

Even Aperol Deutschland showed us some love.

Braulio Brand Film Storyboards 🥃

Hey, check it out superfriends! I remember storyboarding this a while back, first times using Storyboard Pro. Literal game changer. Saved me so much time versus my Storyboard template. This is not an ad. Unless they'd like to pay me. Wink wink. Toon Boom, make it so. It was a Braulio brand film, shot in Italy. Good stuff.

Check it out, made a IG side-by-side video:

Sum up,
Be safe, my people.

JFOODO's "Sake: Escape The Ordinary" Storyboards 🍶

So, I had a lot of things on the agenda today. Much of which was abandoned and so I only did one thing. Animation. Possibly a venture. But will see how I feel about it next week. So the rest of my day pretty much watching Clone Wars and think Ahsoka is such a dope character and how Lucasfilm can get this right but not the trilogy. Character growth, for Christ sakes.

And talking about 'sake', this went live yesterday – my work on JFOODO's "Sake: Escape The Ordinary" campaign. Did you like my segue? And as a guy that only had sake when he went to a noodle bar in Central London, it went down a treat. However, thinking of a drink like that but in a more 'contemporary' sense of being enjoyed with, let's say seafood that isn't necessarily Japanese was never something I thought about doing until now. Nobody puts baby in a box.

Done via Mr. White, I storyboarded the brand film which turned out pretty decent. I think a toast or three is in order. Kanpai!

Sum up,
Less work, more breaks.

"KFC T&T Carnival 2016" Storyboards 🍗🇹🇹

It's been a bit of a stroll down memory lane only to realise I've been doing storyboards for a whooole lot of brands, Lots of projects. Quite humbling actually for a freelancer who's never worked for a salary. Day to day baby.

This little project as well reminded me never to agree or compromise your parameters when working on a project. It's just not worth, even with the bills looming.  I can't tell you what those parameters are for you, but you'll know. For me, it was doing well over 20 boards with colour and revisions covered by one nominal fee.

In any case, check it out. I storyboarded this ad for KFC that played in Trinidad And Tobago during Carnival back in 2016.

Sum Up,

Had recently put this up on the Insta (am I that guy now? [nah, I'm still vanity, filter free, so there is that...]). So thought I might as well share on here. A side-by-side storyboard comparison with the Starling Bank ad I worked on.

Done via Ekstasy with VFX by Glassworks.
