Starling Bank "Bank Anywhere" Storyboards

© Starling Bank 'Bank Anywhere' Storyboard. Artwork by Dulani Wilson. All rights reserved to respective owners

Check it out! Storyboards I did for the Starling Bank "Bank Anywhere" ad. It was a little bit of back and forth with this project if I remember correctly. Small stuff like location changes and logistical stuff like swapping coffees for juices, interior/exterior shots etc.

In the end, we got there. Plus, ended up having to design the magazine spread that was printed and used as a prop in the final ad.

Production via Ekstasy.

SES Satellites "Engineering Freedom (#5) Storyboards

This week... well, this January has been a hectic one. As usual, this is never the plan, but it kinda happened like that. In any case, the extra workload helped me put my stamp on things so I guess I can't complain too much.

But, long overdue, I thought I would share a bit of the storyboard I've done for SES Satellites. It was part of the company and brands' campaign to promote their newly-launched fleet of satellites – 03b mPower. The 3D animation series they did used my storyboards to help flesh out the story and narrative flow. And given everything it turned out well.

Hotels.com "Casa De Cantona" Storyboards

© 2020. Hotels.com "Casa De Cantona" Storyboard. Artwork by Dulani Wilson (bluntspear.com) Production by Studio Yes.

Storyboarded this ad when we came out of the first lockdown and things started opening up again. It was a Hotels.com ad promoting a competition of sorts to watch the UELA Champions Finals with the football legend Eric Catona.

This one was a bit of a tight one, so had to keep things simple and to the point. Great working with Studio Yes and Adam Morley who directed. But let me know what you think:

Tesco 5-Ingredient Minty Falafel storyboards

© Tesco 5-Ingredient Minty Falafel. Artwork by Dulani Wilson. All right reserved.

We all could use some cooking tips, So needless to see I've kept this one in the tuck. It was a how-to video by Tesco I storyboarded via Mr. White. So if you're are a fan of falafel, it something you'll defo want to check out.

Made a side-by-side video/storyboard comparison video. Let me know what you guys think!

Sum up,
Tuck in.

Mitsubishi Motors Outlander PHEV storyboards

This is a bit of a throwback to when I storyboarded this Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV ad for Borish out in the Nederlands. Was a fun little project and was the first time I think I did commercial storyboards for companies outside the UK.

And this was at the height of the Hybrid car, so even that tidbit lets you know how big this moment was in the automotive industry.

Check it out, did a side-by-side comparison:

"We Are Aperol People" Storyboards🍹 (starring my favourite colour)

© "We Are Aperol" Storyboards. Artwork by Dulani Wilson. All rights reserved to respective owners.

Orange is such a bright and optimistic colour. Having that said, this ad I storyboarded for Aperol is full of it.

"We Are Aperol People" brand film used the signature colour of their liquor and infused it with the over brands theme of spontaneity, vibrancy, and youthfulness. It was a nice little project and was glad to be their in the pre-production stage.

Even Aperol Deutschland showed us some love.

Braulio Brand Film Storyboards 🥃

Hey, check it out superfriends! I remember storyboarding this a while back, first times using Storyboard Pro. Literal game changer. Saved me so much time versus my Storyboard template. This is not an ad. Unless they'd like to pay me. Wink wink. Toon Boom, make it so. It was a Braulio brand film, shot in Italy. Good stuff.

Check it out, made a IG side-by-side video:

JFOODO's "Sake: Escape The Ordinary" Storyboards 🍶

So, I had a lot of things on the agenda today. Much of which was abandoned and so I only did one thing. Animation. Possibly a venture. But will see how I feel about it next week. So the rest of my day pretty much watching Clone Wars and think Ahsoka is such a dope character and how Lucasfilm can get this right but not the trilogy. Character growth, for Christ sakes.

And talking about 'sake', this went live yesterday – my work on JFOODO's "Sake: Escape The Ordinary" campaign. Did you like my segue? And as a guy that only had sake when he went to a noodle bar in Central London, it went down a treat. However, thinking of a drink like that but in a more 'contemporary' sense of being enjoyed with, let's say seafood that isn't necessarily Japanese was never something I thought about doing until now. Nobody puts baby in a box.

Done via Mr. White, I storyboarded the brand film which turned out pretty decent. I think a toast or three is in order. Kanpai!

"KFC T&T Carnival 2016" Storyboards 🍗🇹🇹

It's been a bit of a stroll down memory lane only to realise I've been doing storyboards for a whooole lot of brands, Lots of projects. Quite humbling actually for a freelancer who's never worked for a salary. Day to day baby.

This little project as well reminded me never to agree or compromise your parameters when working on a project. It's just not worth, even with the bills looming.  I can't tell you what those parameters are for you, but you'll know. For me, it was doing well over 20 boards with colour and revisions covered by one nominal fee.

In any case, check it out. I storyboarded this ad for KFC that played in Trinidad And Tobago during Carnival back in 2016.

The Johnnie Walker Whiskey you can't refuse... 🥃

Contrary to everyone using my neighborhood park as a watering hole to get drunk off wine and East European imported beer, it has been a pretty sobering experience in the ol' Batcave. Nevertheless, what would be the point if we couldn't at least think about pouring ourselves a nice drink for the toast to life? Godfather anyone?

I spoke about this in an earlier post, but I thought I'd do a side by side promo/storyboards as its gotten a lot of positive feedback and contact.

Nike LYG Storyboards 🏃👟

Nike is just one of those prolific brands that you just have to salute. Purely for branding if not anything else. Even the story behind its infamous 'SWOOSH' logo has provides great lessons for brand creators worldwide in knowing and securing your worth.

With that bit of a rant out of my system, last year was brought on to a Picture Farm project via Mira (cool lady) for a Nike ad promoting their London Youth Games event back in 2019. The boards went through a few changes, but the end result is this punchy little number.

Made another little side-by-side comparison. Check out the video below (best on mobile):

Great times.
