Hey, dudes and dudettes! Thought it best to dust off the ol' blog, let the people of the interweb know what the Due's been up to. at the moment, well... Not a whole lot. Well from the usual corporate, looking for follow-up projects, tying up loose end personal projects. Whoa is the life of the freelance.
starting circa tomorrow will be posting more, including so stuff I'm currently working on for a sports charity, plus what's happening with The Action Pixel brand - especially the blog and the store✌🏿️!
It's "slice and dice 'em" season it seems with me on the digital killing floor. Currently editing 'the short', but what launched yesterday was a music video I directed for artiste Scru Love entitled Home. Also ended up doing the frame by frame GFX and edit.
The idea was simple one location deal, DOP shot it on a Black Magic:
Remember that Yakuza boards I did, well the director came back to me and wanted me to convert the boards into a working animatic.
Just to remind ya:
Finished that a couple weeks ago, and will show it in a few when I can.
Also recently did some design work for Topscreen and their rebranding. Logo was simple, check it out:
I also did a version for dark backgrounds so it can exist on all surfaces. I thoroughly hate logos that can only exist on one type of background, or white type on yellow surfaces. It just does not work.
Anywho, I'm just going to totally ignore the fact that this post is being made after quite the hiatus on my part, and just say see ya next time.
Sum Up,
Accreditation. Always praise the soldier who stood in the trenches with you when you did not have the support you have now.
A small change in pace, doing a short, quirky animation experiment with more vector-styled artwork. A lot more tedious than it looks, my hats off to the guys who do it daily. Whether 2D or 3D, animation is animation. And it is all time consuming. Let me know what you think of "Tim":
Thespians! Red Man FB page is live. Check out some of the taster images that have been hitting people square in the face over there on www.facebook.com/redmananimation:
Did an animated video for these guys. Fire The Mob. I did the main concept, storyboard, animatic, design, direction, animation, edit. The usual. Think I went a bit overboard though, but its expected when your dealing with music videos. So many 'club' videos out there you have to go overboard in order to get something half way decent. I think I was able to do that.
I think it should / might be released soonish. But hey till then listen to the track: www.facebook.com/firethemob
Sum up,
I need some clones *folds arms and smirks knowingly*

Redman. Defiant. Tragic. Claiming kinghood the old fashioned way. Through blood, menage and might.
Working some more on frames in my a short animation based on Macbeth. Yeah that one. My on and off projects for years now, but it's coming together. I swear. Thought I'd share a frame I just did:
How goes the Internet? Some urgent (ish) news that requires some exigency! I am currently in the top 50 for the competition hosted by @talenthouse and @snowpatrolband and need your help to solidify dominance. Every vote counts and you can check out the cool video I did for the band's song The Lightning Strike (What If This Storm Ends?). It's got halos, missile silos, babies. What is there not to love? Vote here and show some artistic love for the vagabond :) :
Illustration for a quick music video I'm hoping to get done in the next few days. Fingers crossed anyway. Just dividing the illustration into its respective elements:
Music Video. Animation. Missiles and angels will fly. It's for the Snow Patrol/Talenthouse Competition for their single The Lightning Strike (What If This Storm Ends?). Voting has not started yet, but check it out on my YouTube channel:
Behold, ye mighty people. Did a little Edit test of Red Man and currently redoing some elements. Well, most elements. Not most, but a lot. So working on that now. What do you think?
Sum up,
Could this be my undoing... mentally I mean.
Recently had the opportunity to produce some artwork and story art for a promo for a reknowned sports brand which was quite cool to say the least. The top tiers seemed to like it, particularly my clairvoyant draughtsmanship of the protagonist whom I did not see before I drew him. Here is a quick image that didn't make the final cut.
That aside. MOQ is on hold (I told you all I shot it in February, right?) as I am doing some lip sync for a tutorial video that really may as well be that thing... you know, like supposed we as humans had a thing or action that could 'short circuit' us. Like, example, we say a phrase like "What do you mean the horse blurs your vision" that triggers an aneurysm in your brain. Maybe lip sync will be that for me. Who knows.
Oh yeah, not sure how this totally slipped the cranium, but ahm... I thought I might as well show you Morning Parade's Official Music Video for "Headlights" via another blog:
That Morning Parade competition thing? Remember? Yeah, top 50, deusche bags. Yay! Fingers crucified.
As I debilitate on whether to execute an upcoming project with a pencil or a Shin blade, I did some ish for this online fashion/trends show Threads TV. A little Camera work, GFX, animation. And that's all I'll say about that. Behold:
Follow 'em if you are so inclined. Follow me too, god knows in the land of the blind, the man with one eye is king.
Can't find it online again, but this was a little promo I did for them. Upload activate!:
The #animationvagrant , your ronin of creativity sharpened his blade recently making this little vid entry for indie rock band Morning Parade's "Headlights". It should be a high contender (hopefully) but I will need some of yo' votes. So vote for the kid here:
Voting starts the 27th of March, so be sure to support the kid bright and early.
Here's the vid on my YouTube page:
If you got a profile there too, subscribe and drop me a message or comment, and I will sub back. Because I am a big fan. Long as you're human and love art. www.youtube.com/bluntspearanimation
Sum up,
Currently doing so concept art for a script I wrote. Then editing for Acoustic Rhymes. I have other stuff to do, but this is more important. Til nex' time... Chao!
Hey, Mupalia Pictures Ident. Just uploaded it on to my YouTube page. I am sure I haven't showed ya yet. Fully with sound anyway:
Mupalia and I did a little web promo for a online social site for food enthusiasts @ mivesta.com . Getting continental in this bitch. Have a look here:
Turned out well. Sound is a hella a thing. Done by Mupalia by the way.
Sum up,
Listening to Patrice O'Neal. LOL. RIP. Usually two abbreviations that don't go together.
