The Proposal

First render of a cover design for an anthology of poems by the Black Rainbow Group. The book is entitled ‘The Proposal’ and is supposed to explore the effect technology has had on human love relationships. All that jazz. Cupid was the first thing to be digitally painted…

Then did rest of cover and text:

Ended up using another design which took me less than an hour, compared to this cover that took couple of hours. So goes inspiration and ideas. Sometimes the best are also the simplest.

Storyboards for 'Cry' Music Video

A lot of prep work went into making the 'Cry' vid for Phalla C, so thought I'd share some of that process. Being a story artist had to put my hand in it. Here are a few boards I think you'll like it.

Remi and I even had to shoot a separate film to be used as the projected image on my trusty Vado that I won in a competition. Ah, karma, stars in alignment and all that qi ish.

King/Wilson Music Vids

Been on set with Remi King on this Phalla C 'Cry' music video shoot and it went well. Stil, DOP and Louise, Producer were a big help. Goddamn troopers. We are in the trenches, bizoy! Went in.Went well. Nothing quite the same as seeing ideas you help birth grow into something great. We're gonna start editing that mofo next week, also along with a promo video we both shot for Phalla C a week or so prior to the shoot. GFX is on its way on that too. I'm trying, dudes.

Sum up,
Hella short after such a long respite, I know. Also designed a book cover and concept art for a feature which you'll soon soon. Promise. Cross your heart.

Concept Art for a Feature

Thought it wouldn't hurt to show some of the concept art I recently did for a feature I've been brought on to. Will be storyboarding it as well. Pin my medal of valour high on my chest. Let's go to war. IED placed under a narrow dirt road....wait for it....then KABOOM!

Layers on layers, colour, tone, light, multiply, add, linear light. 9 images in the space of 4 days. All in all good stuff.
Spent too much time looking for pictures of methlabs. I'm probably on a law enforcement database somewhere.

Sum up,
That's all folks

Doc Heads is going Live!

I'm back. Literally just finished 9 production drawings for a feature film in the works. Feeling great, as boards are to follow. More on that later. As you may have guessed, can't go into more details, oh, sometimes working in film makes you feel like a spy. Images though are top heavy, can't wait to really dig in.

Anywho, Doc Heads' presents presently got the go ahead, so expect some filmy doccy class on current. That aside you'll see some o' my GFX... having designed the logo donkey years ago helps as well. Lesson to the wise, always put out the best at that particular moment in time, whether you are working for fee or free. Look at the ad space for the program:

Starts September, 25th 9 pm. Sundays. Gotta love it. Good job Tristan.

Sum up,
Production drawings are awesome, Harbinger the ebook is Live on Amazon, iBooks, Reader and Nook. Good stuff, busy month ahead.
